Antique 1869 Cast Iron Tea Kettle Decorator Piece With Holes "Original"
Here we have a Very Desirable and Original Primitive Antique Cast Iron Tea Kettle with the Pit Bottom Design and a Gate Mark on the bottom. There is a Raised Shield Design on top of the lid and under the lid it has a Raised 8-9-10 and Pat June 1 869, which I assume was for 1869. This Wonderful Antique also has a Beautiful Birds Mouth Opening on the Curved Pour Spout and a Gate Mark on the underside of the lid. The finish on this Beautiful Antique Display Tea Kettle is a Natural Cast Iron Patina that only comes with years of use.
The original knob is missing and there is some rust, pitting and lime on the inside and there are holes near the bottom as pictured; therefore it is being sold as an antique display item. In spite of the flaws, this piece is an Exceptional 142 Year Old Antique Decorator Piece for Home or Office and That Warm Country Feel. Circa: 1869
