Griswold "0" Rare Colonial Toy Tea Kettle "Very Rare Chrome Finish"
Here we have a Very Rare and Hard To Find Griswold "0" Toy Colonial Tea Kettle in Cast Iron with an Extremely Nice Polished Chrome Finish and With The Like New Original Wood Knob. The tea kettle is marked 576 on the bottom and C577 under the lid. There is some rust and pitting on the inside bottom and the Chromed Finish showing signs of use by children, after all, they were made to be played with.
This piece Does Not Have The Normal Foundry Grinding Marks from the slag removal, common with all cast iron pieces, Skillets, Griddles, Dutch Ovens, Etc., as this piece was Highly Polished Prior To Being Chromed. During the polishing process, the bottom was also highly polished, leaving some markings faint and also removing others. There is also a very faint and hard to see hairline in the top edge of the tea kettle as shown in the photos, with this piece being priced accordingly.
