This Griswold Cast Iron #31 Danish Cake Pan Variation #1 is Very Early and Extremely Rare with the #963 in Script. This pan by Griswold is their earliest version of the Danish Cake Pan also known as a Munk Pan and an Aebleskiver Pan. With the #963 in Script and the mold that was used seems to have been somewhat crude, compared to their later molds and pans, I believe this is one of their very first produced.
This pan is heavier than the later variations and does have some very light pitting, which is not that uncommon for a 110 year old piece. All Griswold #31 Danish Cake Pans are Extremely Hard To Find and Very Sought After by the Most Advanced Collectors.
An Extremely Old and Wonderful Specialty Antique Cast Iron Cake Pan , perfect for the advanced collector and in excellent condition ready to bake in, or just sit around the home or office as an Antique candy dish and a Great 110 Year Old Conversation Piece. A wonderful addition to the most advanced cast iron collection. Circa: 1900
