Lodge Cast Iron
Lodge Manufacturing Company was founded by Joseph Lodge in 1910, in the Southern part of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania after the previous foundry, Blacklock Foundry burnt to the ground. He was joined by his brother Will Lodge, his son Richard Lodge and his son-in-law Charles Kellermann. They produced sad irons, trivets, fireplace Andirons and grates, kettles and pots of all kinds , as well as their line of hollow ware (skillets, dutch ovens, griddles, etc.).
Lodge had done all of its molding and casting manually until the 1960s when they purchased an automatic molding machine. To this day, Lodge remains in business, producing approximately 150 items in their line of products and employs well over 200 people. More on Lodge and their products can be found on their web sitewww.lodgemfg.com.
